Daewoo Engineering & Construction said Tuesday it held a commemorative tree-planting ceremony and ecological restoration activity along the Jungnangcheon stream in Seoul on Thursday, World Environment Day, in partnership with the Seongdong-gu district office and the Han River Social Cooperative. The event was part of an ongoing ecological restoration project for the Jungnangcheon area and drew Daewoo Engineering & Construction CEO Kim Bo-hyun, Seongdong-gu Deputy District Mayor Ko Gwang-hyun and representatives of the Han River Social Cooperative. Participants planted maple trees along the stream and reaffirmed their commitment to continuing the public-private ecological restoration effort. "The maple trees planted today carry the meaning of a sustainable environment and community coexistence that Seongdong-gu, the Han River Social Cooperative and Daewoo Engineering & Construction are building together," Kim said. "Just as these trees take deep root and grow along the Jungnangcheon, I hope today's cooperation will endure and become a symbol that passes positive values on to our community and future generations."
