Hite Jinro announced Tuesday that its soju brand Jinro has topped the list of the world's best-selling spirits for 25 consecutive years, as ranked by UK drinks trade publication Drinks International.
Jinro, which exports soju to 91 countries, sold 94.5 million cases (9 liters per case) last year — surpassing the total sales of the entire gin category, which claimed second place.
Jinro has held the No. 1 position among global spirits since 2001. Since declaring its global vision of "Jinro for Everyone" in July 2024, the brand has been carrying out a variety of localized activities.
"We will work to establish soju as a mainstream spirits category enjoyed by people around the world, just like whisky, beer and wine," said Hwang Jeong-ho, executive vice president of Hite Jinro's overseas business division.
