District subsidizes half of workers' employment and industrial accident insurance premiums — applications accepted through June 26 in person or by email
Dobong-gu in Seoul will subsidize employment and industrial accident insurance premiums for platform workers living in the district, district mayor Oh Eon-seok announced.
Eligible applicants are platform workers — including quick-service couriers, food delivery riders and designated driver service operators — who are registered as Dobong-gu residents as of the application date and are enrolled in employment and industrial accident insurance.
The subsidy covers 50 percent of the worker's share of employment and industrial accident insurance premiums paid from July through December 2025, up to 20,000 won ($13) per month for a maximum of six months.
Applications are open through June 26. Interested workers must submit an application form along with supporting documents either in person at the District Economy Division of Dobong-gu Office or by email to the officer in charge.
The total budget for the program is 5 million won, and applications will close once funds are exhausted.
The district will verify each applicant's residency registration and insurance payment records before determining eligibility, and will notify applicants of the result by text message. Approved subsidies will be deposited into the recipient's bank account in July.
A second round of applications — covering premiums assessed from January through June 2026 — is planned for October.
"Platform workers play a vital role across all aspects of our daily lives, yet their employment security and protection against workplace injuries remain precarious," district mayor Oh said. "We hope this support will encourage platform workers to enroll in social insurance and serve as a stepping stone toward strengthening their social safety net."
