Gumi city in North Gyeongsang Province will accept public policy proposals from Monday through June 17 as it prepares for the launch of its ninth directly elected administration, the city announced Sunday.

Held under the theme "Tomorrow's Gumi — We'll Listen to Our Citizens," the initiative aims to build a citizen-centered city government.

Any Gumi resident may submit a proposal through the city's official website.

Submissions will undergo review by relevant city departments and outside experts, with the goal of incorporating viable ideas into the new administration's campaign pledges and key policy projects.

"We hope many residents will take an interest and participate so that their valuable proposals can serve as the foundation for building a better future for Gumi," Mayor Kim Jang-ho said.
