Safety and Health Management Policy Proclamation and Joint Safety Pledge Ceremony with Partner Companies

Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power President Kim Hoe-cheon called on union representatives and partner company executives Friday to "work together to build a safe, accident-free workplace through rigorous, field-centered safety management."

Kim made the remarks at the Safety and Health Management Policy Proclamation and Joint Safety Pledge Ceremony with Partner Companies, held at the Radiation Health Institute in Seoul. "KHNP's labor and management and the representatives of our partner companies have gathered in one place to engrave safety — an absolute value — deep in our hearts," he said.

The event was the first company-wide safety management proclamation since Kim took office on March 18. It brought together KHNP's labor and management alongside partner company executives to reaffirm their commitment to embedding a field-centered safety culture and preventing industrial accidents. Kim formally declared a "safety-first" management commitment alongside union and partner company leaders, marking the start of his active push for field-centered safety management.

Participants shared their respective safety and health management policies and pledged, through a "KHNP–Partner Company CEO Safety Commitment Oath," to faithfully carry out seven action items — including compliance with safety and health regulations and strengthened oversight of daily-wage workers.

KHNP also jointly proclaimed its Safety and Health Management Policy — developed to reflect the views of frontline workers — before the assembled partner company representatives, with labor and management pledging together to advance a field-centered safety culture.
