Lee Ji-hyun, a former member of the K-pop group Jewelry, opened up about her views on marriage in a recent interview.
A video titled "Marriage, divorce, marriage, divorce and… the story of why Jewelry's Lee Ji-hyun says she's going crazy every night" was posted Wednesday on the YouTube channel "Daktershin."
During the segment, host Shin Jeong-hwan jokingly remarked that Lee had "practically taken over every show about divorcees" and had been "going back and forth" through heartbreak and missteps.
Lee pushed back, snapping, "What do you mean going back and forth?" When MC Oh Eun-dam then revealed she was opposed to marriage, Lee encouraged her to reconsider. "You're so pretty, you deserve to be loved, and you're in the prime of your life — why would you be against marriage?" she said.
Oh laughed it off, saying she was too much of an attention-seeker to be satisfied with the love of just one person and needed attention from many. Lee shot back: "You're too greedy. You'll end up like me. Just settle down with one person's love and live quietly. Men are all the same — they're all cut from the same cloth."
Despite having gone through the pain of divorce, Lee said she remains open to marriage. "It's nothing to be ashamed of — I think I could do it a third time, even a fourth time. The issue is that my kids need to be a little older first," she said.
Lee made her debut with Jewelry in 2001. She has since gone through two divorces and is raising a son and a daughter on her own. She has recently won praise for reinventing herself as a hair designer.
