Broadcaster Yoo Jae-suk shared his personal life philosophy and self-care habits in the latest episode of his Netflix variety show.

The ninth episode of "Yoo Jae-suk Camp," released June 2, depicted the final night of the show's second group of guests.

That night, Yoo and actor Ji Ye-eun grilled meat together for the guests. Ji mentioned she liked a particular sauce, saying, "I love this sauce — I have a kid's palate." Yoo gently cautioned her: "Your taste buds may be a kid's, but your health isn't. Be careful."

Ji had earlier taken time off after undergoing surgery for thyroid cancer. Yoo's remark reflected his concern for her health and diet.

Yoo opened up about his own struggles with self-restraint. "I love sweets too — I just hold back," he said. "I used to eat an entire cake in one sitting. But you have to say goodbye to the things you love."

When Ji responded, "That makes me want to cry," Yoo added, "Every time the first digit of your age changes, you have to give something up," underscoring the need for discipline as life changes.

Fellow cast member Lee Kwang-soo chimed in, recalling that Yoo had said a decade ago he needed to cut back on coffee. "You really loved coffee back then," Lee said. Yoo confirmed it matter-of-factly: "That's right. I quit smoking when I was in my late 30s."

Yoo reflected on the broader lesson. "At some point I realized: this is how it is — you have to say goodbye to the things you love," he said. "It seems like, as you live, you let go of things one by one."
