Special music video marks government's first anniversary — civil servants and citizens unite to cheer 'recovery and growth'
South Korea's Public Procurement Service has unveiled a new approach to government outreach.
The agency released a promotional music video titled "Paradise of Procurement" on its official YouTube channel Thursday, marking the first anniversary of the current government. The video features agency staff and members of the public delivering a message of recovery and growth.
Departing from the dry, policy-heavy formats typical of government communications, the video adopts the style of a mainstream pop music video. Upbeat rhythms and catchy choreography carry the "recovery and growth" message in an accessible, direct way.
Filmed on the lawn in front of the Government Daejeon Complex, the video features 19 agency employees and nine members of the public. The mix of policy providers and the citizens they serve produced performances that were unpolished but visibly heartfelt.
Employees from across the agency's divisions — covering goods, services and facility procurement contracts, electronic procurement, raw materials stockpiling, and state property management — appear on screen, showcasing the breadth of the agency's work. Innovative products and government procurement cultural goods were woven in as props, naturally highlighting the agency's support for procurement businesses.
"We hope this emotionally resonant content helps build broader public understanding of and empathy for public procurement, moving beyond the explanation-focused outreach of the past," agency spokesperson Park Cheol-ung said. "Just as the title suggests, we will work to make public procurement a true paradise for citizens and businesses alike — providing solid support for people's safe daily lives and the growth of companies."
