'Competed against Europe's top-tier brands … will expand footprint in public and military procurement'

HD Construction Equipment has secured its first large-scale military procurement contract in Europe.

The company said Thursday it had been selected as the supplier for the Polish Third Regional Logistics Base's tracked bulldozer procurement project. The contract covers delivery of 50 15-ton-class Develon bulldozers and is valued at approximately 27 billion won ($17.8 million). The win comes two years after HD Construction Equipment launched its bulldozer line in the European market.

The company was chosen after competing against Europe's top-tier brands. To meet customer requirements, HD Construction Equipment modified its existing mass-production equipment with adjustments including variable chassis height, increased travel speed and military-grade paint. The company also presented a stable production and supply plan to meet a tight delivery schedule requiring full shipment by November.

"This contract is a case where our product performance, quality and supply capabilities were recognized in the European market after meeting stringent military procurement standards," said Lim Jeong-woo, HD Construction Equipment's Europe regional director. "We will continue to strengthen our product competitiveness for diverse working environments and special-purpose needs, and establish ourselves as a trusted partner not only in construction equipment but also in the public, military and infrastructure recovery markets."

Meanwhile, HD Construction Equipment has also been generating earnings beyond its core excavator line. The company recently signed a 20 billion won articulated dump truck supply contract with Rental Group, the largest construction equipment rental company in the Nordic region, in Norway.
