First ceremonial pitch at a KBO game
Huang to wear Doosan Bears jersey bearing No. 93, marking Nvidia's founding year
Chairman Park Jeong-won to step up to bat in No. 96, representing Doosan's founding year
Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang will throw the ceremonial first pitch at a Doosan Bears home game at Jamsil Baseball Stadium in Seoul.
The Doosan Bears announced Thursday that Huang will throw the first pitch at their regular-season home game against the Kiwoom Heroes on Sunday. Doosan Group Chairman Park Jeong-won will step up to bat in response.
Huang, an avid baseball fan, will take the mound wearing a Doosan Bears jersey bearing No. 93 — a nod to Nvidia's founding year of 1993. It will be his first ceremonial pitch at a KBO game during a visit to South Korea.
Park, who also serves as the Doosan Bears' club owner, will wear No. 96 on his jersey, representing Doosan's founding year of 1896, as he faces Huang at the plate.
Huang is expected to arrive in South Korea as early as Thursday evening and spend four days through Monday meeting with a broad range of figures from the country's business community. His schedule is expected to include meetings with Naver Chairman Lee Hae-jin, LG Group Chairman Koo Kwang-mo, Hyundai Motor Group Executive Chair Euisun Chung and Doosan Group Chairman Park.
