Samsung's global TV revenue share rose 1.3 percentage points year-on-year, more than doubling the share of second-place LG Electronics; the company also led the premium segment with 53.4% share and topped North America's OLED TV market
Samsung Electronics topped the global TV market by revenue in the first quarter, putting the company on track for its 21st consecutive year as the world's No. 1 TV maker.
According to market research firm Omdia, Samsung held a 31.3% revenue share of the global TV market in the first quarter — up 1.3 percentage points from a year earlier and more than double the share of second-place LG Electronics.
Samsung also led the premium segment, capturing 53.4% of the market for TVs priced at $2,500 or above and 50.1% of the segment priced at $1,500 or above.
In the extra-large TV category of 75 inches and above, Samsung secured a 31.6% revenue share to claim the top spot. Strong sales of 98-inch and 100-inch models helped the company reach a 29.7% share in the 80-inch-and-above segment as well.
Samsung continued to grow in the OLED TV market, reaching a 40.1% revenue share in the first quarter. The company particularly stood out in North America, where it led the OLED segment with a 46.1% share.
Sales volume rose 28.8% year-on-year. Samsung OLED, which has grown consistently since its 2022 launch, has now surpassed cumulative sales of 5 million units.
At CES 2026 in Las Vegas in January, Samsung declared this year the dawn of a new era for AI TVs — one aimed at bringing joy and comfort to customers' everyday lives. The company has embedded AI features not only in its premium lineup of Micro RGB, OLED and Neo QLED TVs, but also in newly launched mid-range models including Mini LED and UHD sets.
The integrated AI platform "Vision AI Companion" delivers AI-powered insights, optimized answers and real-time information to users.
While watching TV, users can search for content-related information or look up what they need using voice commands alone. Asking "Where was this movie filmed?" or "What is the South Korean national team's record?" prompts Vision AI Companion to provide the relevant information instantly.
This year's new TV lineup also features "AI Football Mode Pro," which uses AI to analyze soccer match footage in real time, delivering sharp picture quality and precisely rendering even the subtlest movements of the ball.
The sets also come with "AI Sound Control Pro," which analyzes dialogue, background music and sound effects in real time and automatically optimizes the audio mix to deepen immersion in content.
Samsung's 2026 Micro RGB and OLED TVs, packed with a range of AI features, have drawn a string of favorable reviews from major technology publications in the United Kingdom and the United States.
British tech outlet Trusted Reviews awarded Samsung's Micro RGB TV a perfect five out of five and named it a "Highly Recommended" product.
