Program links small environmental technology firms with demand-side companies to build a foundation for industry growth

Korea Environment Corporation, an agency under the Ministry of Climate, Environment and Energy, held the "2026 Mutual Cooperation Demonstration Program MOU and Safety Declaration Ceremony" at the SME DMC Tower in Mapo-gu, Seoul, on Tuesday.

The signing ceremony brought together representatives from 15 small and medium-sized environmental companies selected as this year's support recipients, along with officials from firms that use environmental equipment, to discuss ways to advance on-site demonstration and commercialization of new environmental technologies.

Participating organizations also reaffirmed their commitment to workplace safety through a safety declaration, pledging to prevent industrial accidents and achieve zero workplace injuries throughout the project period.

The Mutual Cooperation Demonstration Program connects small environmental companies with proven innovative technologies to firms that need environmental equipment, supporting technology verification at actual worksites.

As the program's dedicated managing agency, Korea Environment Corporation provides up to 1 billion won (about $662,000) per project to help small environmental companies expand demonstration-based technologies and accelerate their commercialization and market distribution.

New environmental technologies often struggle to enter the market early on due to a lack of field performance records. The corporation said it intends to use the program to strengthen the commercialization foundation for small environmental firms.

"The Mutual Cooperation Demonstration Program is a meaningful initiative that expands the on-site application of innovative technologies and promotes commercialization for small environmental companies," said Cha Gwang-myeong, managing director of planning at Korea Environment Corporation. "We will continue working to build a sustainable growth foundation for the environmental industry and strengthen its competitiveness."
