Officials check management conditions and safety measures

Ulsan has set up 269 polling stations and five vote-counting centers ahead of the 9th nationwide simultaneous local elections. Voters can find polling station locations and registration numbers on the National Election Commission website (www.nec.go.kr) under the "Election Information" section.

Seo Nam-gyo, acting Ulsan mayor, visited the No. 1 polling station at the Ujeong-dong Community Welfare Center on Monday afternoon to review accident-prevention preparations, safety management measures and checks for illegal installations.

Ulsan city will operate a dedicated polling and counting support operations center from election day through the close of vote counting to enable rapid response to any incidents in real time.

The Ulsan Fire Department also conducted an on-site safety inspection Monday afternoon at Munsu Gymnasium, one of the designated vote-counting centers, checking for fire hazards and other safety risks to ensure the counting process proceeds without incident.

On election day and throughout the counting period, fire department personnel and equipment will be deployed on-site and placed on emergency standby for swift initial response.

"We will do our utmost to manage safety on the ground so that citizens can exercise their precious right to vote with peace of mind," said Hong Jang-pyo, chief of the Ulsan Fire Department.
