Sol Beach Jindo, operated by Sono International, announced Monday that it has been designated a "food safety zone" after undergoing a hygiene and safety evaluation overseen by the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety.
The food safety zone project is a Ministry of Food and Drug Safety initiative aimed at creating clean and safe food and beverage environments. To qualify, all food service establishments within a designated area must be individually certified as food safety businesses when the zone contains fewer than 20 such establishments.
In April, Sol Beach Jindo submitted seven of its resort dining and beverage outlets — including Chef's Kitchen and Cafe & Bakery — for inspection, and all seven were certified as food safety businesses. The designation is valid for three years from the date of certification.
"This food safety zone designation is the result of Sol Beach Jindo's thorough hygiene management and the efforts behind it," a Sono International official said. "We will continue to do our utmost in food hygiene management."
