Candidate personally explains 'Hanam Development Lee Yong Act'

Lee Yong, the People Power Party candidate for Hanam-gap, said Monday he has launched an all-out final push ahead of the June 3 by-election.

"Since the campaign began, I have walked roughly one million steps through every alley in Hanam," Lee said. "I have been meeting residents and personally explaining my locally tailored campaign pledges — what I call the 'Hanam Development Lee Yong Act.'"

Lee has engaged residents through the "Hanam Development Lee Yong Act," a set of pledges tailored to the distinct characteristics and needs of individual neighborhoods including Sinjang-Deokpung, Wirye, Gamil, Choi-Gambuk and Cheonhyeon-Chungung. He has also held town halls and policy forums to discuss local issues directly with voters.

The campaign pledges center on issues residents encounter in everyday life — transportation, education, recreational sports and the revitalization of local commercial districts. "Politics ultimately comes down to how well you know your community," Lee said. "I have lived in Hanam for 12 years, sharing daily life with residents, working through the same concerns, and watching local issues unfold closer than anyone."

"Hanam is not a place I came to for an election — it is where I live," he said. "Even after the last general election, I stayed in Hanam and kept working on local issues alongside residents. That is why my sense of responsibility and affection for this city runs deeper than anyone else's."

Lee has chosen side streets over campaign vehicles and one-on-one conversations over large rallies, maintaining a ground-level approach throughout the race. His plan is to keep listening to residents' everyday frustrations and local concerns — and explaining solutions — right up to the final moments of the campaign.

"I am approaching this election with the same desperate, all-in intensity I experienced during survival training in the special forces," Lee said. "I intend to burn every last bit of energy I have until just before midnight on Tuesday, with the resolve to meet all 170,000 eligible voters."

He added, "I am not someone who only shows up at election time. I am a true Hanam person who has lived here for 12 years, sharing residents' lives and thinking about Hanam's problems. I sincerely ask you to make full use of me — Lee Yong — a candidate who will stay in Hanam after the election and stand by its citizens to the end."
