Woo Seo-yun, daughter of former basketball star Woo Ji-won, has advanced to the finals of the Miss Korea pageant. Her striking features and proportions have drawn comparisons to her father, who was widely regarded as one of the most handsome figures in Korean basketball.
Woo Seo-yun announced the news Monday on her social media, writing: "I am Woo Seo-yun, the Seoul, Gyeonggi Province and Incheon preliminary winner of the 2026 Miss Korea pageant. I am deeply grateful and honored to have received both the preliminary award and the DailyLabs Award on the glorious 70th-anniversary stage."
She added that she was "sincerely grateful to everyone who cheered me on" and promised to "keep growing and show an even better version of myself."
Photos she shared showed her in a white gown and tiara, radiating a bright smile and poised demeanor. Additional images captured her delivering a speech on stage in pageant attire, projecting a confident presence.
Many observers noted that her sharp facial features and tall, well-proportioned frame closely resemble those of her father, who was celebrated as a top visual star during his playing days.
Woo Seo-yun, Woo Ji-won's eldest daughter, was born in 2003 and studied fine arts at Tufts University in the United States. She recently gained wider public recognition through her appearance on the tvN STORY and E Channel variety program "My Kid's Romance 2."
Woo Ji-won is a landmark figure in Korean basketball from the 1990s. Over 13 seasons he appeared in 573 games, averaging 12.8 points and 2.51 rebounds per game. Since retiring in 2010, he has worked as a sports commentator and television personality.
