Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power's Hanul Nuclear Power Plant Headquarters will hold a public briefing on its 2025 environmental radiation survey results on June 12 at Deokgu Spa Hotel in Uljin, the plant announced Monday.
Kyungpook National University's Radiation Science Research Institute, which conducted the survey, will lead the briefing and present findings on environmental radiation levels in samples collected near the Hanul nuclear power plant.
The survey covered 755 samples in total — 673 collected by researchers at 18 locations around the plant, including Bugu, Jukbyeon and Maehwa, along with 82 samples gathered jointly with local residents.
Residents participated directly in the sample collection to strengthen the objectivity of the survey.
"Hanul headquarters conducts thorough annual investigations into the environmental impact of nuclear plant operations and discloses the results transparently," a plant official said. "We will continue to communicate actively with local residents."
