From viewing to experiencing: Samsung Display pushes premium gaming OLED at Asia's largest IT show
Samsung Display is making a major push into the premium gaming display market at Computex 2026, Asia's largest IT exhibition, unveiling a broad lineup of OLED and QD-OLED products for gaming. The company is showcasing 16 products in total — ranging from an 8.8-inch panel for handheld gaming PCs to a 49-inch QD-OLED monitor — and said the range demonstrates its commanding technology lead.
Samsung Display announced Sunday that it will participate in Computex 2026, held Tuesday through Friday at the Nangang Exhibition Center in Taipei, Taiwan, where it will present new OLED technologies for laptops and next-generation QD-OLED products.
Among the highlights is the debut of an "Ultra Slim" OLED panel for laptops, which is more than 20 percent thinner than current mass-production panels. Structural improvements to the panel achieved the reduction, giving customers greater design flexibility and improved portability. The panel also maintains true-black reproduction and high-speed response performance.
In gaming monitors, Samsung Display is introducing what it says is the world's first QD-OLED panel to simultaneously deliver 4K resolution and a 360Hz refresh rate. The company said it overcame the technical barriers of combining high resolution with a high refresh rate by optimizing the panel's circuitry and drive system. Also on display is "QD-OLED Penta Tandem" technology, which stacks five layers of blue OLED to improve efficiency, lifespan and brightness, offering a look at the company's next-generation display capabilities.
