SIL, a newly established cosmetics subsidiary of Taekwang Group, announced Monday it is launching its first skincare brand, Safin.

Safin is a sustainable beauty brand built on marine biotech and raw materials sourced from Korean waters, with a focus on strengthening the skin's natural ability to recover and regenerate while promoting a wellness lifestyle.

The brand's core ingredient is a proprietary compound called Reverse Marine™, developed by combining marine biotechnology and K-dermatology techniques with three Korean marine sources: kelp harvested from the South Sea, premium deep-sea water drawn from the waters off Goseong in Donghae, and sea silt collected from Sinan in the West Sea.

South Sea kelp contains minerals, plant-based protein and omega-3 fatty acids. The deep-sea water is drawn from a pristine zone more than 605 meters below the surface of Donghae and is rich in inorganic minerals including magnesium, potassium and calcium. West Sea sea silt helps soothe the skin, boost moisture retention and improve overall skin balance.

The product lineup is an anti-aging range built around Reverse Marine™. Key products include three Skin Reverse Signature items, three Skin Reverse Ampoule items and three Skin Reverse Aging Zone Care Patch items.

Safin will run a pop-up store at S Factory in Seongsu-dong from June 12 to 20, offering visitors a chance to experience the brand and its products firsthand.

"We will address skin concerns at their root and become a wellness life partner for beautiful, healthy women," the brand said, adding that it aims to be "a sustainable K-beauty brand that combines sustainability, functionality and aesthetic appeal."
