Comedian couple Yun Hyung-bin and Jung Kyung-mi have spoken out against rumors of marital discord and divorce that have been circulating online.
In a video posted to the YouTube channel "B-Class Studio" on Friday, Yun appeared as a guest and denied rumors that he had been staying away from home, as well as speculation about a divorce. "That's completely untrue. We're doing fine," he said.
Fellow comedian Choi Sung-min raised the allegations during the segment, saying, "There are rumors going around that you two have gotten divorced — that because you've both been so inactive, it's like you've gone undercover."
Yun appeared flustered in response. "What are you talking about? We're doing well — why would I get worked up over nothing?" he said, pushing back on the claims.
He also explained why the couple has not appeared together on broadcasts. "I'm fine with it, but my wife isn't. She says that whenever we appear together, she ends up saying negative things about me — that's just how comedians get laughs," he said. "We've actually been turning down offers because we felt that image was getting overexposed, and I think that's led to some misunderstanding."
Yun added, "If you've been married, you'd understand — it's less about burning passion and more about coexisting quietly, like a stone pot that stays warm. We're doing well."
His wife Jung had also dismissed the discord rumors earlier, during an appearance on the KBS2 variety program "Malja Show" that aired May 16.
At the time, Jung said articles had appeared with headlines such as "Jung Kyung-mi looks unbearable" and "Thought they were happy — now there are discord rumors," stemming from something Yun had said on YouTube. "Nothing is going on between us. We are genuinely living happily," she emphasized.
When fellow comedian Jung Beom-gyun asked whether Yun came home regularly, Jung drew laughs from the studio audience with a deadpan reply: "He came yesterday."
Yun Hyung-bin and Jung Kyung-mi married in 2013 and have a son and a daughter.
