Seoul National University Hospital announced Monday a series of leadership appointments, naming six professors to senior administrative posts effective June 1 through May 31, 2028. The hospital, led by President Baek Nam-jong, appointed Prof. Kim Yong-jin as vice president for clinical affairs, Prof. Chae Jong-hee as vice president for pediatric care, Prof. Kwon Sung-keun as vice president for research, Prof. Jeon Young-tae as president of Bundang Seoul National University Hospital, Prof. Yoon Young-ho as director of the Gangnam Center, and Prof. Song Kyung-jun as director of Seoul Metropolitan Boramae Medical Center.
Kim Yong-jin, a professor of cardiovascular medicine who graduated from Seoul National University College of Medicine in 1992, takes on the vice presidency for clinical affairs. He previously served the hospital as head of external affairs, head of medical innovation, director of the Biomedical Research Institute and vice president for research, and held university-wide roles including head of planning and head of research and industry-academic cooperation.
Chae Jong-hee, a professor of pediatrics who also graduated from Seoul National University College of Medicine in 1992, assumes the vice presidency for pediatric care. She previously led the hospital's care coordination center and precision medicine center, and currently serves concurrently as chief of the clinical genomic medicine department, director of the Rare Disease Center, and head of the rare disease division under the pediatric cancer and rare disease support program.
Kwon Sung-keun, a professor of otolaryngology who graduated from Seoul National University College of Medicine in 1996, was named vice president for research. He has served as director of the hospital's Institute for Innovative Medical Technology and head of research planning and management at the Biomedical Research Institute, and currently serves as deputy director of the specialized research institute.
Jeon Young-tae, a professor of anesthesiology and pain medicine who graduated from Seoul National University College of Medicine in 1992, will take the helm of Bundang Seoul National University Hospital. He previously served that hospital as head of public relations, head of planning and coordination, and vice president for clinical affairs, and currently serves as president of the Korean Society of Anesthesiologists.
Yoon Young-ho, a professor of family medicine who graduated from Seoul National University College of Medicine in 1990, was named director of the Gangnam Center. He has served as head of planning for the hospital's cancer care division, director of the public health and medical services program, and vice president for planning at Seoul National University, and currently leads the university's health culture program.
Song Kyung-jun, a professor of emergency medicine who graduated from Seoul National University College of Medicine in 1997, was appointed director of Seoul Metropolitan Boramae Medical Center. He previously served the hospital as chief of the emergency medicine department and head of external affairs, and most recently held the post of vice president for public affairs.
