Public institutions including Gwanak District Office matched with some 20 Gwanak S-Valley companies to support technology demonstration and B2G market entry; discussions cover four key service areas: administrative innovation, welfare, small-business support and education
Gwanak-gu is advancing its "Gwanak Cooperation Model," positioning the district as a public testbed for high-potential venture startups and fostering mutual growth between public institutions and early-stage companies.
Gwanak-gu is positioning itself as a public testbed for high-potential venture startups, deepening what it calls the "Gwanak Cooperation Model" — a framework designed to foster mutual growth between public institutions and early-stage companies.
The district office held the "Gwanak S-Valley Innovative Technology Sharing Forum" at its annex on May 26 and 27. The event matched technology demand from public institutions with the innovative capabilities of Gwanak S-Valley companies, helping startups demonstrate their technology and break into the business-to-government market.
The program runs in partnership with Seoul National University's RISE Project Campus Town team, which provides institutional connections and tailored consulting, and the Gwanak Small and Venture Business Promotion Agency, which oversees technology demonstration and follow-up support.
The forum drew 11 departments of Gwanak District Office along with local public institutions — including community welfare centers, high schools and Seoul National University — and approximately 20 companies based in Gwanak S-Valley.
The event opened with an "innovative technology pitching" session in which participating companies presented their business ideas and proposed public-service application models across four core areas: administrative innovation, welfare, small-business support and education. Demand-side institutions and companies then held one-on-one meetups to examine the feasibility of deploying each technology on-site and assess whether it could improve the quality of administrative services.
Going forward, the district office plans to connect positively evaluated companies with public institutions through the Gwanak Small and Venture Business Promotion Agency for joint technology demonstration projects, and will award prize money to the final matched companies.
In addition, the district office plans to actively support top startups in opening pathways into the public market at the Gwanak S-Valley Startup Festival scheduled for the second half of the year, where successful B2G technology demonstration cases will be presented and MOUs signed.
