Daegu Shinsegae unveiled a roughly 15-meter golden ball tree Friday at the central plaza on the department store's first floor, bringing a festive atmosphere ahead of the year-end season.
The tree makes its second appearance, following its debut last year.
The installation features a cone-shaped design built from more than 300 golden balls, accented by 27 star-shaped ornaments and a Milky Way lighting display stretching 51 meters in circumference.
This year, the store added glitter balls and 104 side star lights to create an even more dazzling effect. The tree is anchored to the ceiling of the fifth floor, allowing visitors on each level from the first to the fifth to take in a different view of the display.
Daegu Shinsegae plans to hold a gift giveaway event for customers who post photos with the tree on social media. The exhibition runs through Dec. 31.
"We prepared the golden tree to bring warmth and excitement to residents as the year draws to a close," said Kim Yu-rim, a design partner at Daegu Shinsegae. "We hope Daegu residents' year-end shines warmly and brilliantly."
