Architect and professor Yoo Hyun-jun has drawn attention after sharing a photo taken with H.O.T. singer Jang Woo-hyuk following an unexpected street encounter.
Yoo posted on social media Friday, writing that he had been curious about who was driving a Cybertruck he spotted on the street — only for the window to roll down and Jang to wave hello.
"When I asked for a selfie, he kindly offered to take it himself," Yoo wrote. "His face was tiny."
Yoo added that another photo could not be posted because he was smiling so broadly that he looked like a steamed bun. "It was an honor to meet you," he said.
In the photo, the two are seen beaming at the camera on what appears to be a back street in an urban area.
The specific location of the encounter was not disclosed.
The vehicle Yoo spotted is the Tesla Cybertruck, an electric pickup truck that is a rare sight in South Korea. It is priced between 145 million and 160 million won ($119,000). Singers Kim Jun-su and G-Dragon, as well as baseball player Kim Gwang-hyeon, are also reported to own one.
Jang has been involved in a legal dispute with a former agency employee, identified only as A, over allegations of verbal and physical abuse. In 2022, A alleged through an online community that Jang had subjected them to verbal abuse and assault at overseas work sites and broadcast station waiting rooms.
Jang's side denied the claims as groundless and filed a defamation complaint against A.
Both the first-instance court in November last year and the appeals court in October acquitted A.
