Company says product delivers heating performance on par with clay beds

Kyowon Wells has launched a new heated mat called the Mineral Hwangto Heuk Mat Plus.

The product features a higher concentration of hwangto (yellow clay) pellets compared with the previous Mineral Hwangto Heuk Mat, boosting its far-infrared emission capability. A range of new heating modes and convenience functions have also been added.

The clay pellet content has been increased by 10 percent over the previous model. The pellets now weigh 11.5 kilograms, achieving 96 percent of the clay content found in a queen-size clay bed, the company said. This allows users to experience rich far-infrared rays even from a mat. Far-infrared rays promote blood circulation, help maintain body temperature, and aid in fatigue recovery and pain relief.

The mat also offers expanded heating modes, including a full-body sauna mode and a lower-back sauna mode for targeted heat therapy by body part. The lower-back mode delivers heat exclusively to the lumbar area and allows users to choose between high heat at 50 degrees Celsius and moderate heat at 45 degrees Celsius. General temperature settings can be adjusted in 1-degree increments across a range of 20 to 60 degrees Celsius.

Usability has also been improved, with the controller redesigned at half the size of the previous model for a more streamlined look. An hourly auto-off timer and a lock mode have been added. A bedding-drying function uses a low temperature of 35 degrees Celsius — below body temperature — to remove moisture from bedding and maintain a comfortable sleeping environment, the company said.

Meanwhile, the Mineral Hwangto Heuk Mat is a heated mat Kyowon Wells developed in partnership with Heukpyo Heukchimde and launched in September last year. It surpassed cumulative sales of 10,000 units within a year of its release, offering clay-bed-level heating performance at a lower price.
