'Life's Good Lounge' debuts at US university
112-square-meter space opens Wednesday at Vanderbilt; first global expansion of domestic 'Another Campus' concept
Features OLED TV, StanbyME, Styler and gaming monitors
Company also eyes lounge as talent recruitment hub
LG Electronics has opened the Life's Good Lounge inside the student union building at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee, the company announced Friday.
The opening ceremony was held Wednesday (local time) and was attended by Park Yong, head of LG Electronics' Tennessee production subsidiary; Jeong Un-tae, head of LG Chem's LGCTA subsidiary; and Park Hyo-seok, a representative overseeing Ultium Cells — the joint venture between LG Energy Solution and General Motors — along with other LG and Vanderbilt officials.
Spanning 112 square meters, the Life's Good Lounge is the first LG Electronics brand space to open at an overseas university. It marks the first global expansion of "Another Campus," LG Electronics' brand experience concept already established at domestic universities including Seoul National University, Hanyang University, Pusan National University and Ulsan National Institute of Science and Technology (UNIST).
LG Electronics has equipped the lounge with an OLED TV, StanbyME 2, a Styler and gaming monitors, aiming to give students natural, everyday exposure to its products and brand.
An LG Styler has also been installed in the lounge's career center, which provides job-search resources. Students who borrow formal attire ahead of interviews or other important hiring events can use the Styler to arrive well-dressed.
The company plans to host a range of events at the lounge. The gaming zone inside — which also serves as the official practice space for Vanderbilt's esports team — will host an LG OLED gaming tournament.
LG Electronics also intends to use the Life's Good Lounge as a base for recruiting future talent, running career programs that include company and job-role presentations, networking sessions, internship information and guest lectures by executives and engineers.
The company plans to broaden its collaboration with the university across areas including undergraduate and graduate research projects, cooperation in AI and engineering, and visits to its North America and Tennessee production facilities. Activities will also be coordinated with LG Group affiliates operating in Tennessee, including LG Energy Solution and LG Chem.
LG Electronics has operated its Tennessee factory since 2018, building ties with the local community. The facility was named a Lighthouse Factory by the World Economic Forum in 2023 and has more recently become a key site for validating physical AI technology, one of the company's core future growth drivers.
Kwak Do-young, LG Electronics' North America regional president and executive vice president, said the company hopes the Life's Good Lounge will serve as "a new touchpoint with the vibrant university community," adding that it will "continue to support Vanderbilt students in reaching the value of 'Life's Good' through positive everyday experiences."
