Preliminary review of AI adoption status
MOU partner organizations also recognized
Lee Myung-won, standing auditor of the Korea Housing and Urban Guarantee Corporation (HUG), announced Wednesday that the corporation held an awards ceremony honoring employees who contributed to its first-ever "AI transition status special audit" and to inter-agency audit cooperation.
The AI transition status special audit was conducted to review HUG's preparedness for AI adoption and the progress of its implementation efforts, with the aim of supporting a smooth transition to AI.
HUG selected seven employees and staff from partner organizations as recipients of the proactive administration award for their contributions to the audit, presenting the honors in the name of the standing auditor.
Earlier, HUG signed an MOU with related agencies in July to identify AI-based audit techniques and share best practices. During the special audit, the corporation built on that agreement by exchanging expertise with partner organizations and jointly identifying key checkpoints at each stage of AI project implementation.
The awards were established to recognize not only HUG's internal staff but also audit officers at partner organizations, and to promote a culture of proactive administration based on those achievements.
"This is a meaningful example of strengthening audit expertise through the sharing of knowledge and experience across institutions," Lee said. "We will continue to actively share audit best practices and techniques to reinforce internal controls in the public sector and support proactive administration."
Meanwhile, HUG is accelerating its organization-wide AI transformation, including efforts to train AI specialists and build a work-support platform.
