US President Donald Trump posted a series of attacks on Fox News on Tuesday (local time) while watching midterm election returns.
That evening, Trump took to his Truth Social platform to complain, writing that he was "watching election coverage on Fox News and cannot stand the voice of Jessica Tarlov. Dumb as a rock and her voice is grating." Tarlov is a liberal Fox News host who typically presents Democratic arguments and strategy on air.
Trump followed up with additional posts, writing that "Fox News polling is always the worst" and that "Fox News ratings have dropped 27 percent — because they spend too much time covering stupid Democrats who are obsessed with Trump."
He added that "it's no surprise Fox News ratings are collapsing and they will fall even further — not because of me, but because they oppose me. This happened before and Fox almost went under, and now the same thing is happening again."
Earlier that morning, Trump had called into Fox News to urge Republican supporters to vote — underscoring how he treats the network as a tool for rallying his base while attacking it sharply whenever its coverage favors Democrats.
