KT Corp has launched an AI service that detects voice phishing risks by analyzing not only call content but also speech rate and tone. The company is also consolidating its spam, smishing and voice phishing protection services under a single brand called Ansim365.

KT said Wednesday it would unify its customer protection services and technology under the Ansim365 brand to let customers use telecommunications services with peace of mind year-round, while strengthening its AI-based protection capabilities.

Ansim365 is KT's customer protection brand, built on AI and network technology to counter a range of threats in everyday telecommunications use, including spam, smishing and voice phishing. KT said it grouped related services and technologies — including AI text spam blocking, real-time spam alerts and voice phishing detection — under the Ansim365 brand to improve customer convenience.

As a first step, KT released "Ansim365 Voice Phishing Detection 3.0," an upgraded AI-based detection and alert service designed to counter voice phishing risks that can arise during phone calls.

The service is the first in South Korea to apply multimodal AI technology that goes beyond contextual detection, speaker recognition and deepfake voice analysis to interpret nonverbal cues such as conversational context, speech rate and tone. It assesses voice phishing risk during a call by combining voice, text and nonverbal elements. The service also uses an on-device approach, analyzing calls in real time on the handset without transmitting the original audio to external servers.

The service also provides the reasoning behind the AI's risk assessment, allowing customers to see not only whether a call is flagged as dangerous but also why, so they can respond quickly to suspicious situations.

KT also plans to launch the "Ansim365 Report" on Thursday, a service that lets customers check their own security status and a record of the protections they have received. The aim is to make previously invisible protection activity and outcomes visible, helping customers go beyond passive threat detection and blocking to actively strengthen their own security.

The Ansim365 Report presents a customer's security status as an easy-to-understand score. It also provides a summary of protections received through Ansim365 services — including AI text spam blocking, real-time spam alerts and voice phishing detection — along with recommendations for additional security services the customer may need.

Alongside this, KT has opened a dedicated Ansim365 menu on the customer support section of KT.com. Customers can use the menu to access an overview of the Ansim365 brand and check key services including text spam blocking, AI voice phishing detection and the Ansim365 Report, all in one place.

In addition, KT plans to roll out an advertising series carrying the message "So every day of your life feels safe" and promote Ansim365 services through multiple customer touchpoints including SNS.

"KT has been strengthening its customer protection capabilities — for example, in July we expanded our network and AI-based Ansim365 text spam blocking service to all customers," said Choi Se-jun, head of KT's Customer Strategy Division. "Going forward, we will continue to use Ansim365 as our foundation to proactively respond to evolving telecommunications threats and expand security services that customers can feel in their daily lives."
