A recruitment-linked on-site interview with Aseong Daiso Co. will be held Nov. 26 at the Dongjak Employment Support Center — applications accepted through Nov. 24 for about 30 candidates. Ten positions are available in store stocking, cashiering, customer service and cleanliness management, with support from interview through hiring and follow-up.
Dongjak-gu will hold a recruitment-linked on-site job interview in partnership with Aseong Daiso Co. to expand employment opportunities for job seekers and help businesses fill staffing needs.
The district has been working with private companies to identify workforce demand and connect residents to actual job placements as part of its broader effort to expand residents' participation in the workforce.
In September, a similar on-site interview with McDonald's Korea resulted in seven candidates being hired — one more than the original target of six — out of 18 participants, demonstrating the program's ability to deliver real employment outcomes.
The interview will take place at 2 p.m. Nov. 26 at the Dongjak Employment Support Center, located on the second floor of 140 Noryangjin-ro.
Applications are open through Nov. 24 to job seekers between the ages of 20 and 60 (born between Dec. 1, 1966, and Nov. 30, 2006), with about 30 spots available. Dongjak-gu residents will be given priority.
Applicants can register online through the district office's integrated reservation system, or in person or by phone at the Dongjak Employment Support Center.
Selected participants will receive a company briefing and information on hiring terms on the day of the interview before taking part in individual branch-level interviews. Final hiring decisions will follow the company's own selection process, and results will be communicated individually.
Aseong Daiso plans to hire a total of 10 people. Successful candidates will be placed at stores in and around Dongjak-gu — including the Sindaebang, Isu, Sadang and Daebang branches — where they will handle product stocking and receiving, cashiering, customer service and cleanliness management.
Positions are available in two formats: full-time at 40 hours per week and part-time at 30 hours per week. The full-time monthly wage is about 2.15 million won ($1,600), while the part-time hourly rate is 10,320 won. Additional allowances may be paid separately depending on eligibility.
Contracts run for 12 months and may be extended based on the company's internal performance evaluation criteria.
In addition, the district plans to follow up after the interviews to confirm actual hiring outcomes, check in with new employees on any difficulties they encounter on the job, and provide job listings matched to the preferred working conditions of those who were not hired.
Dongjak-gu District Mayor Ryu Sam-young said he hoped the event would give companies a chance to find the talent they need while helping job seekers land positions suited to them. "Going forward, we will continue to look after our residents carefully — from job placement all the way through post-employment support — so they can put their skills to work and build stable careers across a range of companies," Ryu said.
