Seongju-gun in North Gyeongsang Province said Tuesday it had successfully concluded its "Seongbaksup Night Walking" event, which ran at Seongbaksup Forest from Oct. 9 to Oct. 23.
The event was part of a project to develop the county into a nighttime tourism destination, combining the forest's natural scenery with lighting installations and artworks to create a distinctive after-dark walking space.
Along the walking trail, lighting shaped to represent royal willows and rabbits was installed alongside line lighting. An artwork titled "Cloud Fish Dream Star" by artist Pyo Gu-cheol was also on display, lending the nighttime landscape a fantastical atmosphere.
Visitors could also take part in a hands-on workshop making aroma room sprays inspired by the forest, giving them a fragrant keepsake from their visit.
"We will continue to develop differentiated nighttime tourism content that draws on our beautiful natural and cultural resources, with the goal of making Seongju-gun a place people want to stay," a county official said.
