Lotte Department Store announced Tuesday that it has opened a K-perfume boutique called Scentray on the third floor of its Yeongdeungpo branch, gathering domestic fragrance brands under one roof.

Scentray is a Korean perfume specialty store conceived and curated by Lotte Department Store, offering a selection of homegrown fragrance brands alongside personalized scent recommendations. The retailer said it opened the store in response to growing demand in the perfume market, with its perfume sales from January through October this year up 20 percent from the same period last year.

The boutique carries brands including Keyth, Chi, Rbow, Glow and Holybanum, all sourced directly by Lotte Department Store buyers.

The store runs an experiential consulting program based on fashion image analysis. Customers select photos and keywords, and the program identifies their style from eight fashion image categories — including romantic, modern and natural — then factors in the emotions they want to evoke and the occasions they plan to wear a fragrance to recommend a scent. Customers can sample and compare fragrances on the spot.

Lotte Department Store also plans to host a series of pop-up stores featuring popular perfume brands, and will offer fragrance-blending classes in partnership with its in-store cultural center.

"We will continue to offer customers new beauty experiences through differentiated brands and content," said Kim Eun-hye, head of the beauty team at Lotte Department Store.
