Company plans to use operational data from solar power plants
OCI Power, a solar inverter manufacturer under OCI Group, announced Tuesday it will advance domestic solar inverter and complex control technologies in line with the government's Korean Green Transformation initiative.
Solar inverters are key components that ensure the stable supply of generated electricity to the power grid.
OCI Power plans to leverage field data accumulated through operating domestic solar power plants to develop next-generation domestic inverters and complex control solutions.
The company also aims to strengthen its grid stabilization technology to contribute to technological self-reliance and supply chain competitiveness in South Korea's solar industry.
Drawing on its domestic research and development and manufacturing base, OCI Power has supplied a cumulative 7 GW of power conversion solutions — including inverters and energy storage system power conversion systems — to the domestic market.
"As renewable energy expands, the localization of key components and supply chain stability are becoming increasingly important," said Kim Seong-yeop, CEO of OCI Power. "We will leverage our domestic research, development and manufacturing capabilities to strengthen the competitiveness of domestic inverter technology and contribute to the technological self-reliance and sustainable growth of South Korea's solar industry."
