The Samsung Welfare Foundation announced Tuesday it will hold the National Daycare and Kindergarten Directors C&I (Culture & Insight) Day at Leeum Museum of Art and the Samsung Children's Education and Culture Center on Nov. 17.

Participants will tour Leeum Museum, taking in exhibitions of both contemporary and classical art as well as "The Artists' Secret Garden: Fragments of Dreams," a show featuring artwork by children with developmental disabilities.

The cultural program will also include a performance by Heart String Quintet, a string ensemble made up of young musicians with developmental disabilities affiliated with the HartHart Foundation.

Following the cultural activities, Yu Hee-jung, a professor of psychiatry at Seoul National University Bundang Hospital, will deliver a lecture titled "How to Read and Support Your Child's Developmental Signals." The talk will offer practical guidance for daycare and kindergarten directors on identifying and responding to infants and toddlers who may be showing signs of developmental difficulties.

A second lecture will be delivered by Kim Kyung-il, a professor of psychology at Ajou University, on the theme "The Competencies of Future Leaders: Happiness and Resilience." Kim will share leadership insights on fostering mutual understanding and communication across relationships with parents, teachers and others.

Registration opens Tuesday at 10 a.m. on the Samsung Welfare Foundation's website and is free of charge. The lectures will also be livestreamed on the foundation's YouTube channel on the day of the event.

The Samsung Welfare Foundation has run the Directors C&I Day since 2022 to provide daycare and kindergarten directors nationwide with cultural experiences and professional insights. More than 30,000 people have participated to date, with attendees responding positively to the event's combination of practical learning and a chance to recharge.
