Daegu city, Dalseong-gun and multilayer printed circuit board maker Isupetasys signed an investment agreement Monday to build a seventh factory within the Daegu National Industrial Complex, at a ceremony held at Daegu City Hall's Sanggyeok office.
Daegu Mayor Choo Kyung-ho, Dalseong-gun County Chief Choi Jae-hun and Isupetasys CEO Choi Chang-bok attended the signing ceremony.
Under the agreement, Isupetasys will invest 500 billion won ($374 million) to construct the new factory on a 168,300-square-meter site within the Daegu National Industrial Complex in Dalseong-gun.
The company said it made the investment decision to get ahead of rising demand for high-performance printed circuit boards driven by expanding AI investment, and to strengthen its global competitiveness.
Daegu city said it will expand infrastructure — including power and water supply and wastewater treatment — in line with the investment schedule, and will provide swift administrative support for permits and approvals through its one-stop corporate investment support system.
The city plans to double the wastewater treatment capacity at the national industrial complex from 5,000 tons to 10,000 tons per day by expanding the existing treatment facility.
Treatment processes will also be upgraded to ease the burden on companies handling high-concentration wastewater generated during production in advanced industries such as semiconductors and secondary batteries.
The city also plans to actively consult with the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy to improve the investment subsidy regime, allowing companies to apply for follow-on subsidies within their per-company support limits before prior subsidy settlements are finalized.
"Daegu city showed a strong commitment to supplying infrastructure in line with our investment schedule, and its one-stop corporate investment support system played a major role in our decision to invest," Isupetasys CEO Choi said.
"We will spare no support to help Isupetasys build an unassailable economic moat as the AI era opens new opportunities for growth," Daegu Mayor Choo said.
