Hankook Tire & Technology announced Monday that a collaboration product it developed with travel luggage brand Leadbolt sold out within two days of going on sale.

The collaboration was unveiled in stages — first through a KREAM teaser page on Oct. 19, then on the Leadbolt website on Oct. 24. Sales launched exclusively through KREAM at 11 a.m. on Oct. 30, and the entire limited stock sold out.

The collaboration was conceived around the shared value of "movement" between tires and travel luggage. Hankook Tire incorporated design elements from its global brand identity into the luggage and accessories, allowing customers to engage with the brand in travel and everyday settings.

The product lineup includes a "Luggage Tire Toolbox," a luggage cover and a luggage belt. The flagship item, the Luggage Tire Toolbox, comes with wheel covers for the luggage's casters — the parts that make contact with the ground. Drawing on the design of Hankook Tire's flagship tire brand Ventus, the covers are shaped to resemble tires while also reducing rolling noise and supporting smoother movement.

In addition, the lineup features a luggage cover with motorsport-inspired graphics and a luggage belt accented in orange, naturally weaving Hankook Tire's brand identity into products used throughout the travel experience.

A Hankook Tire official said the collaboration extended the company's brand assets — rooted in mobility — into the travel and lifestyle space. "Through this collaboration, which reinterprets the design and functional elements of tires into everyday products, we have further expanded the touchpoints of brand experience that extend beyond automobiles and into daily life," the official said.

Since last year, Hankook Tire has been running "Tire Boy," a customer-participation tire safety inspection campaign inspired by the "beer boy" concept at baseball stadiums, meeting consumers directly at ballparks, beaches and other leisure venues. The company has also broadened its lifestyle brand presence through collaborations with Lotte Wellfood on an anti-drowsiness gum and with Artist Bottle Club on a non-alcoholic beer called B Lager Zero.

Meanwhile, Hankook Tire has been strengthening its partnerships with global automakers, recently supplying its ultra-high-performance tire Ventus S1 evo Z as original equipment for this year's Porsche 911 Carrera and the new Panamera.
