Taxis and mobility-support vehicles operating across Incheon will be transformed into rolling ambassadors for the city's bid to host the 2028 G20 summit.
The Incheon city government announced Monday that starting this month, it will affix G20 summit bid promotional stickers to corporate and private taxis as well as disability call-taxi vehicles, launching a full-scale street-level awareness campaign.
The city plans to leverage public transportation — which reaches a broad cross-section of residents and visitors — to build momentum for the bid.
A total of 4,606 vehicles will receive the stickers: 4,000 corporate and private taxis, and 606 mobility-support vehicles including specially equipped vehicles and voucher taxis.
Each vehicle's exterior will display the slogan "2028 G20 Summit — Now, Incheon!" carrying the bid message to every corner of the city.
The stickers will be distributed through each transport operators' association. For corporate taxis, the Incheon Metropolitan City Taxi Transport Business Association will allocate stickers according to each company's fleet size and apply them in bulk. For private taxis, stickers will be available at the association's office and three designated charging stations, with drivers participating on a voluntary basis.
Alongside this, the city is running a signature campaign among taxi workers in support of Incheon's G20 summit bid.
Park Seong-sun, director of Incheon's Transportation Policy Bureau, said taxis and mobility vehicles are "the face of the city that visitors to Incheon encounter first." Park added that the city hopes "this everyday-life promotional effort will serve as an opportunity to raise public empathy and attention for the G20 summit bid," and said the city would continue to work closely with the industry.
As of late September 2026, Incheon held taxi licenses for 8,946 private and 5,385 corporate vehicles, totaling 14,331. An additional 606 mobility-support vehicles for people with disabilities are currently in service.
