Special foliage program begins Friday at ginkgo forest
Baby panda Shu Bao, baby capybaras make public debut
Circus 'Wings of Memory' runs through Nov. 15
Everland, operated by Samsung C&T's resort division, announced Monday it has put together an autumn outing itinerary combining fall foliage, baby animals and special performances.
Starting Friday, the theme park will run a special foliage experience program at the Secret Ginkgo Forest on the slopes of Hyangsusan, a mountain near the park, exclusively for members of its garden subscription service, Garden Pass.
The site spans about 150,000 square meters and is home to more than 30,000 ginkgo trees, making it the largest ginkgo grove in South Korea. Visitors can stroll forest paths with expert commentary and enjoy hammock meditation sessions.
Inside the park, the Haneul Garden Path is another prime foliage destination. More than 10,000 trees have turned red and yellow along the roughly 1-kilometer walking trail. Fall colors can also be enjoyed from Monimo RUSH, a ride 56 meters above ground, and the rapids attraction Thunder Falls.
At Panda World, five-month-old baby panda Shu Bao, who made a public debut Friday, is greeting visitors. Born in June, Shu Bao has grown from 171 grams at birth to more than 9 kilograms.
Twin pandas Rui Bao and Hui Bao, who are set to depart for China, can also be seen. The two pandas enter quarantine on Nov. 13, with their last public appearance scheduled for Dec. 11. At Ppuppa Town, capybara triplets that went on public display last month are also welcoming visitors.
A range of special performances rounds out the lineup. Wings of Memory, a permanent art circus produced in collaboration with Canadian circus company Éloize, runs through Nov. 15 with two shows daily. Bloodcity Zero, an immersive horror theme zone featuring zombie performers, operates through Nov. 22.
"With autumn at its peak, we have prepared a wide variety of things to enjoy — from fall foliage scenery and animal families to spectacular performances," an Everland official said.
