Daegu city will hold a chrysanthemum exhibition to offer residents a chance to enjoy the flowers' beauty and fragrance as autumn deepens.
According to the city, the 25th Daegu Arboretum Chrysanthemum Exhibition will run for 10 days from Thursday through Nov. 15 at Daegu Arboretum.
The exhibition will feature more than 13,000 chrysanthemum works in a variety of forms.
The displays were conceived by arboretum staff and carry added significance as each piece was grown over the course of a year in the arboretum's own nursery.
Particularly ahead of 2027, the Year of the Sheep in the traditional lunar calendar, the exhibition will include chrysanthemum sculptures shaped like sheep as well as dinosaur figures designed to delight young visitors and families.
Chrysanthemum arrangements and landscape lighting will also be installed at Dongdaegu Station, allowing visitors to enjoy the flowers in the heart of the city after dark.
"This exhibition was organized so that residents can soak in the autumn atmosphere — chrysanthemum fragrance mingled with fall foliage — without having to travel far," an official at the city's arboretum management office said. "As traffic congestion is expected during the exhibition period, we encourage visitors to use public transportation whenever possible."
