A bride's account of how a marathon event's road closures and noise destroyed an outdoor traditional Korean wedding ceremony she had spent a year planning has drawn widespread sympathy online.

On Friday, posts about a traditional wedding ceremony that coincided with the Disney Run marathon appeared on the online community DCinside's running gallery and on social media, drawing considerable attention.

The author, identified only as A, who appears to be the bride, opened by saying the Disney Run held on Saturday "ruined a once-in-a-lifetime wedding."

"I had signed a contract a year ago last October to hold a traditional ceremony at Yangjindang in Wolmi Park in Incheon," A wrote. "Disney Run notified us of road closures just 16 days before the wedding, and when we raised the noise issue, they simply kept saying it would be fine without offering any concrete plan."

According to A, road closures caused by Disney Run on the day of the wedding prevented guests from arriving on time, forcing the ceremony to start late — and even then, it had to be held to the sounds of music and cheering from the Zootopia-themed event.

A also shared photos from the ceremony, in which the groom appears to be Western.

"It was a wedding I had been carefully preparing from the United States for a year, because I wanted to share Korean culture with my then-boyfriend, now husband, and his family," A wrote. "More than 10 friends flew in from the US and rented hanbok to celebrate with us."

"But Disney Run's irresponsible and arrogant handling ruined everything," A added. "I wanted an apology from the organizers, but have yet to receive any response."

The noise on the day was so severe that the officiant's voice was barely audible. The father's words of blessing could not be captured on the commemorative video.

Disney Run 2026 was held Saturday at Sangsang Platform, a cultural complex in Jeomulpo-gu, Incheon, drawing 15,000 participants.
