Gyeongbuk College ran the 16th session of its "Woori Dongne Munhwa Taekbae," a mobile cultural outreach program, at Yeongju Senior Care Nursing Home on Thursday as part of its social-value initiative.
The program visits welfare facilities to bring performances, hands-on activities and other cultural programming directly to vulnerable residents who have limited access to cultural life.
At Thursday's event, local youth artists staged a clown performance titled "Jeo Itdi. Aiga Gwangdae," a comedic street-theater piece, drawing laughter and warm responses from elderly residents.
Students from the hotel and food service department also ran a food truck and coffee cart, serving warm food and beverages as part of a volunteer effort.
The combination of youth artists' performances and university students' volunteer service offered the residents both cultural enrichment and emotional comfort.
President Choi Jae-hyeok said the college would continue to draw on its human and material resources to improve access to cultural welfare for marginalized community members and lead efforts to share warmth with the region through social-value initiatives.
Meanwhile, Gyeongbuk College is set to hold the 17th session of the program at Saeheuimang Silver Hills on Saturday.
