BNK Busan Bank announced Friday that it has received integrated international certification for its anti-bribery management system and compliance management system from the Korea Management Registrar.

ISO 37001 is an international standard for preventing and managing corruption risks such as bribery and improper contracting, while ISO 37301 is an international standard for the systematic management of an organization's compliance obligations, including laws and internal regulations.

Busan Bank has worked to embed integrity and compliance as core organizational values, running employee-participation ethics programs, improving its compliance reporting system, and carrying out ongoing efforts to prevent corruption and conflicts of interest. The bank has also focused on raising ethical awareness among staff, promoting a culture of voluntary compliance, identifying corruption risk factors, and strengthening its internal control framework.

The dual certification recognizes that the bank's sustained ethics and compliance activities, along with its anti-corruption and regulatory compliance management systems, meet international standards — a validation granted by an independent external body.

"We plan to continue improving our internal control framework through regular risk assessments, internal audits and employee education, and will work to ensure that the values of integrity and compliance take root across the entire organization," said Kim Seong-ju, president of Busan Bank.
