Gear info now shown on driving display
Slim display gains RPM widget
'OTA lets vehicle experience evolve after delivery'
Hyundai Motor Company announced Friday it will roll out an over-the-air software update for Pleos Connect, the next-generation infotainment system in the New Grandeur, delivering the update to customers in stages.
The update focuses on improving access to functions drivers frequently check or operate while on the road. A door-lock button has been added to the driving information screen, allowing drivers to lock or unlock all doors with a single tap.
A gear-shift display has also been added to the driving information screen. Previously, the screen showed only the current gear position; going forward, a shift window will appear each time the driver changes gears, making it easy to confirm the current state — park (P), reverse (R), neutral (N) or drive (D) — at a glance.
On the slim display, a gear information widget now shows engine RPM as well. The speedometer font and wallpaper on the slim display also change according to the selected drive mode. Hyundai Motor said the design reflects the characteristics of each driving mode so customers can feel the vehicle's driving state more intuitively.
The in-vehicle voice AI agent Gleoo AI has received new convenience features based on customer feedback. When a driver requests a nearby location by voice while driving, the system searches for options based on the actual route being traveled and automatically sorts results by proximity for destinations where distance matters most.
The update also adds on-device text-to-speech support, allowing the system to read text messages aloud via voice command. Voice commands related to calls and messages are restricted from the rear seats to prevent unintended errors.
The new features are already included in vehicles delivered to customers of the recently launched All-New Avante and All-New Tucson.
Hyundai Motor plans to continue expanding the in-vehicle customer experience built on Pleos Connect and to keep delivering software updates that reflect customer feedback and real-world usage.
"This update focuses on strengthening convenience features that customers can feel in their everyday driving," a Hyundai Motor official said. "We will continue to expand in-vehicle services based on customer experience and provide a vehicle experience that evolves even after delivery through software updates."
