Floor spokesperson Lee Ju-hee says Ju should 'switch careers to become a clickbait YouTuber'
The Democratic Party of Korea said Thursday it would file an additional police complaint against People Power Party lawmaker Ju Jin-woo after Ju raised new allegations claiming that President Lee Jae Myung, the first lady, and Lee's eldest son Lee Dong-ho and daughter-in-law used the presidential helicopter during a summer vacation on Jeodo island in Geoje last August.
Democratic Party floor spokesperson Lee Ju-hee said in a written briefing that day, "Is Rep. Ju not content with stalking the president and now trying to switch careers to become a clickbait YouTuber?"
Lee said President Lee and the first lady "never played golf at Hansandae Country Club by taking the presidential helicopter with their son and daughter-in-law last August." Lee added that Ju "is scrambling to recover after getting into trouble over false disclosures about first lady Kim Hye-kyung — but just like those false disclosures about Kim, this latest allegation is nothing but a lie."
Lee also said Ju "is inflating allegations recklessly without verifying the facts, driven by a desire to harass the president and first lady. This is no different from cyber clickbait channels that have become a social menace by posting videos that demean and attack specific individuals." Lee said that if Ju intended to exploit the president's private life for personal political gain while showing no regard for presidential security and safety, Ju should "just switch careers and become a clickbait YouTuber."
Lee stressed that "a thorough investigation must clearly expose the true nature of Rep. Ju Jin-woo's vile smear campaign politics and hold him strictly accountable under the law."
