The South Gyeongsang Provincial Office of Education on Thursday distributed a "2027 CSAT Final Preparation Booklet" to 177 high schools across the province ahead of the College Scholastic Ability Test, scheduled for Nov. 19.

The booklet contains mock exam materials covering Korean language, mathematics, English, Korean history, and social and science inquiry subjects. One hundred active teachers with CSAT question-writing experience took part in its production. Schools plan to use the materials for final-stage study sessions with their third-year students, and the education office has continued the project for 15 consecutive years.

The office said the booklet features questions in a format closely mirroring the actual CSAT, helping test-takers check their time management and problem-solving process for each subject area. Beyond scores, students are encouraged to examine whether they ran short on time in familiar question types and whether they made careless mistakes by rushing through problems they already knew — insights the office said would help them build a study strategy for the remaining days before the exam.

Making the materials available through schools is also central to the booklet's purpose. An office official said teachers can use students' results to assess understanding and identify weak points in each subject area, then provide tailored remedial instruction. "We will support students in strengthening their readiness for the CSAT and preparing for the exam systematically within school, so as to ease the burden of private tutoring," the official said.

Jeong Seon-hui, head of the office's career education division, said the booklet is best used as a practice tool for confirming one's current level of preparation and getting ready for the exam — not as a resource for predicting the direction of CSAT questions or guaranteeing scores. "We will further strengthen public-education-centered college entrance support so that students can fully prepare for university admission at school without relying on private tutoring," Jeong said.
