In collaboration with publisher Changbi, the food service company blends seasonal dining with literature
New seasonal menus and a book-themed pastry package headline the fall promotion
Samsung Welstory has teamed up with publisher Changbi to run an autumn promotion at more than 120 corporate cafeterias through Nov. 13, the company said.
The hot-meal counter will offer three new dishes made with seasonal ingredients — potato, kabocha squash and baby cabbage. The lineup includes a perilla-seed potato dumpling soup, a kabocha squash hamburg steak cream curry and a baby cabbage mushroom knife-cut noodle soup.
The grab-and-go counter will carry an exclusive item: a book-shaped package containing maple-leaf-shaped rice-dough pastries filled with sweet red bean paste and maple jam, along with a maple-leaf bookmark printed with lines of poetry. Cafe menus will feature three beverages curated to match literary passages selected by a book editor — an orange grapefruit honey black tea, a yuzu chrysanthemum flower tea and a sweet potato maple latte.
Select locations will host large pop-up zones featuring curated book selections, literary passages and merchandise. Sentences by six bestselling authors will be displayed throughout the space, and visitors will receive postcards bearing those passages. A scratch-card event will offer limited-edition merchandise as prizes. A book talk with poet Jeong Ho-seung is also planned.
"We will continue to deliver diverse experiences through content that reflects trends and customer interests," a Samsung Welstory official said.
