More than 40 alumni from 36 companies and institutions, including Samsung Electronics, ASML and Korea Electric Power, take part; CEOs of 7 alumni-founded startups also share their stories

Korea University of Technology and Education (Koreatech) said Wednesday it is holding the "2026 Second-Half Graduate Alumni Mentoring & Startup Networking Day" at Damheon Hall and the first-floor lobby of its Damheon Silhak Building on campus.

The event was organized to give current students a chance to hear firsthand about employment experiences and job-specific information from alumni working at major domestic and international companies and public institutions, while also connecting entrepreneurially minded students with alumni who have started their own businesses.

More than 40 alumni serving at a total of 36 companies and institutions are participating as mentors. They come from major domestic and global firms — including Samsung Electronics, ASML, Kia, LG Energy Solution, Hyundai Autoever and LS Electric — as well as public institutions such as Korea Electric Power Corporation, Korea Land and Housing Corporation, Korea Expressway Corporation and Korea Midland Power.

At the "Graduate Alumni Mentoring Consultation Booth," students can meet sunbae working at companies they are interested in and receive guidance on company and job introductions, the hiring process and job-search strategies, resume and interview preparation, and on-the-job experience after joining a company.

Students can also hear directly from working alumni about the actual work environment and the competencies required for each role — details that are difficult to find online — gaining information useful for mapping out career paths and preparing job applications.

This year's second-half event expanded the program beyond its traditional employment-focused mentoring to include entrepreneurship.

At a separate "Startup Networking Zone" set up in Damheon Hall, the CEOs of seven alumni-founded companies — including Summit Design, Enlighten, Lena Software and Super Life — will share their startup experiences and insights with current students.

Alongside this, three startup support institutions in South Chungcheong Province, including the Chungnam Content Promotion Agency, will offer program information and consultations, and four student startup clubs, including AutoSafer, will display their business ideas in an exhibition.

Through consultations with alumni entrepreneurs, students will explore the startup preparation process, commercialization experiences and the competencies needed to launch a business, while also taking time to develop their own startup ideas.

"Our alumni making their mark in industries at home and abroad are a source of pride and a precious asset for our university," Koreatech President Yoo Gil-sang said. "I hope the experiences and advice of these sunbae serve as a solid stepping stone for their juniors as they explore career paths and discover new possibilities."
