Laundry detergent brand Persil announced Wednesday the launch of Persil Disc, a new capsule detergent featuring a highly concentrated formula and "Power Micro Enzymes."
The lineup comprises four variants. Persil Disc Power will be released first, with Floral Fresh, Lavender and Indoor Dry to follow in sequence.
According to Persil, skin waste such as sweat, sebum and dead skin cells accumulates deep in fabric fibers and binds with dust, leaving odors and yellowing even after washing. The Power Micro Enzymes are smaller than fabric pores, allowing them to penetrate deep into fibers and break down contaminants. They also target odor-causing residue that can build up inside the drum, helping keep washing machines clean.
The concentrated formula has made the capsule smaller than previous products. Each capsule handles loads of up to 7 kilograms. CO₂ emissions per disc are 36 percent lower than the company's earlier products. Film usage has been cut by 25 percent based on surface area, and packaging plastic has been reduced by up to 31 percent for the 26-count pack. The film is 100 percent water-soluble, and the pouch is recyclable.
Independent testing has also confirmed the product's cleaning performance. In a capsule detergent evaluation conducted by the Korea Consumer Agency in August, Persil Disc showed strong results in removing blood and ink stains. It also demonstrated high solubility in cold water.
