Nowon-gu District Mayor Seo Jun-o attended "Challenge! Nowon Seniors' Digital Golden Bell" at the district office's main auditorium on Tuesday, cheering on elderly participants as they tested their digital skills.

The event is a kiosk-use competition open to Nowon-gu residents aged 65 and older, designed to build seniors' confidence with digital devices essential to daily life and to support their broader participation in society.

The program unfolded in five stages: a digital experience booth, an opening ceremony, the competition itself, a special lecture on strengthening digital skills, and an awards ceremony.

Particularly popular was the experience booth held before the main competition, where participants tried out AI care robots, kiosks and AI-based gait-analysis healthcare equipment. One-on-one personalized employment counseling was also on offer, drawing an enthusiastic response from attendees.

"I am deeply grateful for the passionate spirit of the seniors who have taken on new challenges in step with the era of digital transformation," Seo said. "We will continue to provide full administrative support so that seniors can conveniently use digital devices in their daily lives and go on to engage in a wide range of social activities."
