Hana Securities announced Monday that it ranked first among all domestic brokerages in the mid- to long-term returns category for non-principal-guaranteed defined contribution pension products as of the third quarter of this year.

According to disclosures on the Financial Supervisory Service's integrated pension portal, Hana Securities posted the highest long-term annualized returns among brokerages for its DC non-principal-guaranteed products as of the end of the third quarter: 8.03 percent over five years, 8.88 percent over seven years and 7.21 percent over 10 years.

Short-term returns were also strong, with DC products returning an annualized 18.72 percent over one year and 16.32 percent over three years. The firm's individual retirement pension (IRP) one-year return of 18.50 percent also ranked first among the top 10 brokerages.

Hana Securities said it has built a tailored asset management framework and upgraded its digital platform to strengthen its pension business competitiveness. At its branches, dedicated pension specialists known as "pension doctors" — private bankers with expertise in retirement planning — provide one-on-one in-depth consultations.

For customers who trade remotely via mobile, the firm offers professional remote advisory services and portfolio rebalancing support through its pension asset management center. The recently launched MTS "Hana Securities V" has also been enhanced with "AI Pension Pro," an AI-driven hyper-personalization service.

The service enhancements have translated into growth in pension assets under management. Hana Securities' pension reserves have risen this year by 36.5 percent for DC plans and 38.8 percent for IRP plans. The firm has also been recognized as a top-10-percent outstanding pension provider in the non-principal-guaranteed returns category for four consecutive years in the annual pension provider evaluation conducted by the Ministry of Employment and Labor.

"As ETF-centered investment products account for a growing share of DC and IRP assets and market volatility increases, the asset management capabilities of pension providers become ever more critical," said Kim Seung-gyun, head of Hana Securities' pension business division. "We will further strengthen diversified investment across high-quality assets and enhance tailored consulting that meets each customer's needs, contributing to improved long-term returns."

Hana Securities launched Hana Securities V in September under the slogan "A Step Better Investment." Key features include "AI Briefing," which uses AI to summarize overnight US market conditions and the reasons behind individual stock movements, and "ETF MBTI," which analyzes a customer's holdings and recommends ETFs suited to their investment profile.
